BEACH MEDIA

Beach Media oversees the business operations for student-run media in the Department of Journalism & Public Relations at California State University, Long Beach, including the Daily Forty-Daily Forty-Niner, DIG MAG, DÍG en Español and Beach TV News. Beach Media is student-run and advised by faculty, providing college students the opportunity to gain real-life experience in a laboratory environment. Beach Media reserves the right to revise or reject any advertisement at its sole discretion at any time prior to publication.

Beach Media will make all reasonable efforts to see that advertising is published as accepted, and that pre-printed inserts are distributed as ordered. However, Beach Media will not be responsible for any consequential damages resulting from failure to do so.

PAYMENTS

All advertisements must be paid for in advance, unless credit has been established with Beach Media prior to the order being placed. Credit terms are NET-30, unless otherwise specified. Payment forms accepted include credit card through the CashNET online payment system, check or cash. Checks should be made out to California State University, Long Beach with the publication name and insertion order number noted on the check. A fee will be charged for any returned checks. A monthly late fee will be applied to any delinquent accounts exceeding the payment terms. Past due accounts will be turned over to the University Collections Office and subject to interest and penalties.

CONTENT

Beach Media will not knowingly publish advertisements that discriminate on the basis of race, sex, sexual orientation, religion, national origin, ancestry or physical/mental disability. Advertisements having the appearance of editorial material will be clearly identified as "Paid Advertisement" or "Sponsored Content." Beach Media reserves the right to insert the name of an advertisement's sponsor into the advertisement.

The advertiser and / or agency agrees to assume full and complete responsibility and liability for the content (including text representations, illustrations and copyrights) of any advertisements placed with Beach Media. Specific placement is neither sold nor guaranteed, but may be requested.

DESIGN SERVICES

If you would like assistance with creating or designing your advertisement, our creative team offers graphic design services for an additional fee. Design services include the initial advertisement design and two rounds of revisions/edits. Additional revisions will be charged at $50 per edit. All requests for design must be submitted two weeks or more before the art deadline given. Contact your client coordinator for a quote.

DEADLINES & CANCELLATIONS

Any cancellations or adjustments to advertisements booked must be made at least five working days prior to the publication date. No refund will be offered if the advertisement was canceled after the deadline and a fee may be assessed to the account. All ad assets including art, copy and backlinks must be received by the deadlines given. If assets are not provided by the deadline, and an insertion order was signed by the client, Beach Media will move forward with processing payment, regardless of if the advertisement ran or not.

ERRORS

Beach Media is not responsible for incorrect copy or art submitted by the client. It is the advertiser's responsibility to proofread their ad. If an error is found, the advertiser must notify Beach Media within five working days of publication in order to qualify for a make-good. Minor typographical errors do not qualify for a refund. Beach Media is responsible for the first incorrect ad insertion only. It is the advertiser’s responsibility to proofread the ad on the first day of publication. If an error should appear in the ad, the advertiser must notify the Daily Titan by noon of that day in order to receive a one-day ad extension with the correction made. Minor typographical errors do not qualify for a refund.
